Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: June 2026

1. Our Commitment

Care Hub is committed to making this platform accessible to everyone, including disabled people, people with learning disabilities, and older people. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

We recognise that many of our users support or are supported by people with complex needs, and we take accessibility seriously as a core part of our service.

2. Accessibility Features

Care Hub includes the following accessibility features:

•Read Aloud: key content throughout the platform can be read aloud using text-to-speech
•AAC symbols: visual communication symbols are used on the home page to support users with communication needs
•Large text mode: a text size option is available in the accessibility bar
•High contrast support: the platform uses clearly distinguishable colours and avoids reliance on colour alone to convey meaning
•Keyboard navigation: the platform is navigable without a mouse
•Screen reader support: pages use semantic HTML headings and ARIA labels

3. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

•Some older content sections may not yet have full screen reader optimisation
•Uploaded profile images may not always include descriptive alt text
•Complex data tables may not be fully accessible on all screen readers

If you encounter an accessibility issue not listed here, please let us know.

4. Technical Information

Care Hub is built using React and relies on standard web technologies. We test our platform against common assistive technologies including NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers, and keyboard-only navigation.

Our platform is designed to work with:

•Current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
•Mobile browsers on iOS and Android
•Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver

5. Reporting Accessibility Problems

We welcome feedback on accessibility. If you find any part of Care Hub difficult to use, or if you need content in a different format, please contact us through the platform.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days and to resolve significant issues within 30 days.

6. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com or by calling 0808 800 0082.

The Equality Act 2010 requires organisations to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We are committed to meeting this obligation.

7. Review

This accessibility statement was last reviewed in June 2026. We review and update it regularly as we improve the platform.
