1. About Care Hub

Care Hub is an introductory platform that connects individuals who receive Direct Payments for social care with independent support workers ("carers"). Care Hub is not a care agency, does not employ carers, and does not provide, manage, or supervise the delivery of any care services.

Care Hub is operated as a community platform. Any care or support arrangement made through this platform is a private arrangement solely between the family/individual and the support worker.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using Care Hub, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are registering on behalf of another person, you confirm you have the authority to do so and accept these terms on their behalf.

3. User Responsibilities

All users agree to:

•Provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information in their profile
•Treat all other users with respect and dignity
•Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour
•Not share misleading or false information
•Report any safeguarding concerns, unsafe behaviour, or misuse of the platform immediately
•Carry out their own due diligence before entering into any care arrangement

4. Carer Responsibilities

Support workers using Care Hub are independent self-employed individuals. They are solely responsible for:

•Holding valid and up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificates where applicable
•Maintaining appropriate insurance
•Complying with all relevant employment, tax, and regulatory requirements
•The quality and safety of any care they provide

Care Hub does not verify the accuracy of qualifications, certificates, or claims made by carers. Families are strongly advised to independently verify all credentials.

5. Family / Employer Responsibilities

Families or individuals using Direct Payments who engage a support worker through Care Hub may be acting as employers. They are responsible for:

•Understanding their obligations as an employer under UK employment law
•Making their own arrangements for PAYE, National Insurance, and holiday pay where applicable
•Conducting reference checks and verifying DBS certificates
•Ensuring the safety and suitability of any carer they engage

Care Hub recommends seeking independent advice from your local Direct Payments support organisation.

6. Limitation of Liability

Care Hub is not liable for:

•The quality, safety, or outcome of any care provided through the platform
•Any financial arrangements, disputes, or employment matters between users
•Loss, injury, or damage arising from a user's reliance on information on the platform
•Any content posted by users

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Care Hub's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user to Care Hub in the 12 months preceding any claim.

7. Membership

Some features of Care Hub require a paid membership. Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Care Hub reserves the right to change membership pricing with reasonable notice. Access may be suspended or removed for breach of these terms without refund.

8. Account Suspension and Termination

Care Hub reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that:

•Breaches these terms
•Is found to have submitted false or misleading information
•Engages in behaviour harmful to other users or the community

Users may close their account at any time by contacting Care Hub.

9. Safeguarding

The safety of vulnerable adults and children is paramount. If you believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact emergency services on 999. For non-emergency safeguarding concerns in Suffolk, contact Suffolk Adult Care on 0808 800 4005 or Suffolk Children's Services on 0808 800 4005.

All users are encouraged to report any safeguarding concerns via the platform's reporting function.

10. Care Networks

Care Hub provides networking capabilities within the platform to allow users to create and join private Care Networks for peer support, shared coordination, and general discussion.

Any care arrangements, shared care agreements, or coordination of schedules formed through the Care Network function are strictly private agreements between the users involved. Care Hub takes no responsibility for the vetting, safety, or legal compliance of any shared care environments created through this feature.

Users who create or join a Care Network remain solely responsible for:

•Verifying the suitability and credentials of other members they invite
•Ensuring any shared or co-ordinated care arrangements comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
•The safety and wellbeing of any person receiving care within a shared arrangement

Care Hub is not a party to any agreement formed within a Care Network and accepts no liability arising from such arrangements.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

Care Hub may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will endeavour to notify users of significant changes via email or on-platform notification.
